Not new but I I love it!
Great website about colour illusions:
Optical Illusions and Visual Phenomena
Check out the colour luminance sections
You can narrow down the effect by clicking on the ‘Interactive’ button and manually adjusting the brightness with the slider.

Gestalt in Isoluminance
This is a simplified version of the painting “Nu bleu II” by Henri Matisse. The original is a medium blue on a light yellow background. Here, the background brightness slowly oscillates and passes a point where the luminance of the background equals that of the figure.

When the brightness of fore- and background is identical, the gestalt is suddenly not well defined, it loses cohesion. The exact point of this so-called ‘isoluminance’ or ‘equiluminance’ depends strongly on your visual display unit and on your eyes.

Ask_Anything

WolframAlpha as color tool

Wikipedia: "Wolfram Alpha is an answer-engine. Online service that answers factual queries directly by computing the answer from structured data, rather than providing a list of documents or web pages that might contain the answer as a search engine might."

You can ask about anything like:
- 'how many people on earth?"
-what's the weather now in tokyo
-what's Greek for "Pythagoras"
-What's pigmentation?

Very good for mathematics, scientific data
-rotate 30 degrees
-eigenvalues {{4,1},{2,-1}}
