Added on 14 August, 2008 DescriptionThis idea I got from a pompous portrait of the later beheaed French king Louis XVI. In the picture the chair looks blueish, but I found other photos if the same painting where it looks more green. Anyway I think the marriage of blue and gold is a bit more boring than that of green and gold. This scheme would also go well in stripes. Of course the seat would have to get a leaf gold handling or maybe a coat of gold paint for this to work Even though in the Rococo era men tended to look and act quite feminine these regal pieces have a bit more macho feel to them.
